Just recently, on 2nd October 2004 , we celebrated our adopted Border Collie- Trinity's (Izzi) 1st birthday.  She is a beautiful tri-colored BC that we adopted ( after spending a full day) at the SEBCRL with Jerri.

My husband, Greg and I were also proud owners of a beautiful, strong-willed Border Collie pup formerly known as Indy.... yes, named after the famous movie adventurer- Indiana Jones.   We got him at 10 weeks old from a ranch in Plant City.

Indy was 18 months old when we went to the SEBCRL.  We brought him out to find a companion as we felt his time at the "doggie daycare" was making him very aggressive and troubled.  We had read about Jerri and her wonderful work with her Border Collies and decided this was the right place to find an companion for Indy.   From 1pm to 6pm, and seeing almost all the available females (ALL beautiful BCs), Jerri, with her special wisdom, said she had one more female left that we could try with Indy!  She brought out an 8 months old, playful beauty, named "Izzi".

Jerri had her at the rescue for only a month, and did not have much opportunity to observe or train Izzy.  Indy and Izzi hit it off right away, and we adopted her and then arranged to meet Jerri on the 4th of July, in Lakeland, at the Agility trials so we could take her home with us.

Needless to say, it was a little rough at first with her in her new home here in Tampa.  She was very aggressive at first, biting us if she did not get her way.  One phone call to Jerri for advice along with a lot of patience and understanding, helped us get through the transition period.

It was very reassuring to know that Jerri was there to help in any way she could.  We now have a smart, wonderful BC, with a loving temperament to match!!!  She still does get a bit upset if she does not get her own way, but also knows her limits.  She has helped Indy with his fear aggression and he has gotten much better with humans other dogs.

As Jerri advised, love goes a long way, and this is very apparent with all the Border Collies that Jerri rescues!  We now have another amazing BC and hope to adopt another one day from the SEBCRL!

THANK YOU so very much Jerri, for our beautiful and feisty Border Collie-"Trinity"!!!

Sincerely,

Helena, Greg, Indy, Trinity & Samwise (the rescued and herded cat)
