Relinquishing and/or Relocating Your Border Collie

Before contacting us regarding relinquishing your border collie, please be aware that we will only accept purebred border collies.  We will need all of their paperwork, including medical records and vaccination records.

 We would much rather serve as your relocation liaison.  Too many times, inexperienced dog owners relinquish their dog to the wrong person and it can create multiple problems, especially for the dog.  Should you be consider giving up your border collie to someone, be prepared for your border collie to come back!  Finding the perfect home for a border collie depends on the border collie.  Much time and effort must go into seeing that he or she is placed in an environment that will meet his or her needs.

 Please be aware however, SEBCRL believes in a life-long commitment to all animals, so if your request for relinquishment is a request of convenience, i.e., you’re moving into an apartment, we will insist that you make the necessary accommodations for your border collie versus orphaning him or her… after all, border collies accommodate us!

Relinquishing your Border Collie to a rescue may not be easy, but once you see that your Border Collie has a chance at living his or her full life in a Forever Home, you should find relinquishment a very positive and rewarding option.
